Our Roots
Welcome to Sunshine and Rainbows Nature School of Wonder LLC! We are a local, family owned and operated licensed childcare. We have had the privilege of serving Oklahoma families through our home childcare for the last 12 years as Sunshine Family Childcare. It is such a joy for us to have this opportunity to have a space equipped for our full vision to finally come to life!!
This has been my (Kristen Amon) dream since I was 15 years old! My vision for a holistic school has evolved over the years. I have had the privilege of working with different dynamics of Early Childhood Education such as Childcare Centers, Special Needs Pre-K, Children’s ministries, and Licensed Home Childcare. My first love was Montessori, but I learned that it wasn’t always the best for every child. Over the years I tried different approaches and complied the aspects that were most inclusive to all of my children. I believe that we have an unique approach to education that is sure to inspire and nurture your child's growth and development. We consider it an absolute privilege to share in this precious phase of your child's voyage.

“The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.”
-Maria Montessori
"...education is an art-it must speak to the child's experience. To educate the whole child, his heart and his will must be reached, as well as the mind.”
"What a child can do today with assistance, she will be able to do by herself tomorrow"
-Lev Vygotsky
–Rudolf Steiner
“It’s necessary that we believe that the child is very intelligent, that the child is strong and beautiful and has very ambitious desires and requests. This is the image of the child that we need to hold.
Those who have the image of the child as fragile, incomplete, weak, made of glass gain something from this belief only for themselves. We don’t need that as an image of children. Instead of always giving children protection, we need to give them the recognition of their rights and of their strengths.”
-Loris Malaguzzi
